Weekend Wash - And Shine :-) - PICTURE HEAVY

Had a great drive two weekends ago, and again just last weekend. However, last weekend was so cold, the water turned to ice on contact with the car :headbang: so I couldn't give the car its weekly wash

It went two weeks without a wash.... :o

Here she was... at least my previous polishing session was still beading water!

Covered in dirt - but my Auto Glym hood protector was working wonders, and kept the water and dirt from getting into the material... made cleaning the hood easier. I highly recommend it.

Karcher high pressure washer, two buckets and Autoglym shampoo to the rescue :)

The wheels really need a refurb, and I'm really wanting to de-amber the headlights. But Xenon headlights are a pain to de-amber, so they're staying put until I find a donor set of headlights to do a cut and shut job...... :(

This weekend I'm off to see Nosa to get rid of the CDV.... Z4-itis has a strong hold

I always used Auto Glym on my Z3 hood and I completely agree, it's brilliant.
Their hood shampoo is good too.

Your zed is gorgeous btw!

Fantastic job - satisfying, isn't it ?

Makes me want to put my 108s back on. Now. :D

Shiney Z Lovley to see.

Washed two cars that week end. Z first after a gentle run out. Took ages to dry. By that time it was dusk. Started to wash the Mazda and the water was freezing as I washed, had a weird white soapy ice crust. Eventualy gave up blasted of the soap and dried it as much as I could before it froze solid. Quite a laugh and no damage to the paint the next day, which I was a bit worried might happen.

What did you use to get that shine mate?-looking stunning! 8)

Dont want to seem like I'm an advert for Auto Glym, but I use Auto Glym Ultra Deep Shine

I do a polish once every 6 weeks or so, which keeps the water beading nicely and gives a good shine.

I'm not a detailer, and dont have a polisher etc - although I did get a 12v Halfords job for Xmas, I haven't used it yet, as I dont think it's powerful enough :(

Once I get my wheels re-done, I'll probably put the car in for a proper detail to remove some swirls from the previous owner. Either that or save my cash, and get an ///M

Auto G do some great products, they have modified their formula on their SRP recently.

One thing I never get, is why they sell a water blade for? In my eyes, it's the worst thing to use after you have just washed your car...

You missed a bit...

Missed a bit? Me? Never :) Although in one picture the light on the boot could make it look like there's a dirty patch, but it's just the light ;)
