Weather has taken its toll

Not that bad but with the cold weather coming in its finally killed my battery. I've been nursing a low battery for some time and today it was completely flat. Didn't even unlock the car. I'll pop to halfords tomorrow on the way to visit family in the Mrs car now (boo) but are there any recommendations?

Bosch S4 is popular. You need the "096" version.

If there's a eurocarparts near you you should be able to collect one for under £80 in the sales.

Check out posts on battery care, you can soon kill a battery even if its relatively new and replacement can also be a ball ache good luck Baz

Cheers. I'll see if I can find a ECP shop near to where we're going. The car is used as a daily so battery care shouldn't be an issue. I've know that it was on its way out for a few weeks but hoped it would get through Christmas.

Forgot about limp mode. Fingers crossed its ok. I'll let you know if I need it coding and many thanks for the offer of help.

Thanks guys. I put my reg in and it picks up that it's a coupe and I presume it has the same battery as the roadsters but for some reason it doesn't list the 096?

Hope all goes well Roundozo. Some pretty decent guys out there I notice, good on you. Baz

Worth noting - the only difference between a Bosch S3, S4 ans S5 is the number of years warranty. Batteries are identical so only pay more for the higher number if you want the extra years' warranty.

SHE LIVES!!!! Thanks for all your help/advice people. Luckily no limp mode but I have lost a few things like time settings, the Bluetooth phone memory and things like one touch window clclosing. I'll get most of it re-set but will have to wait for a forum meet and someone with the ability to recode. Mac, maybe at the next forum meet we could get that sorted. :D

Roundozo try sitting in the car and holding the window button down until the window is fully down and tthen hold it up until the window is fully up again. Should reset the windows, as I understand it the one touch function only works if you show it the max and min. Positions :)
