We are wasting our time

Sadly it looks that way. :headbang:

The Stop Oil protestors need to go there!

And yet now the developing world wants us to pay reparations to them because we started the industrial revolution.
Nuts.

Thats the issue - we will pay at some point, if they don't want the trappings the industrial revolution has given them they can stay in the dark ages

The sobering thought is, we are mugs and will pay it :x

Perhaps we should start sending out invoices for all the positive things we have done for them?

OK guys, whether you believe in climate change is man made or not, if you like me believe that we should at least get a say in whether we should be poorer in the pursuit of Net Zero by 2030, have a look at this link.

It should take you to a Government petition calling for a referendum on the subject.

Hey, instead of putting fault on others with a slight hint of racism: China has about 20-21 times the population of the UK so the 8 years of china emission equates to 160 years of UK emissions just because of population, not so far from the 220 anymore hey? Also, has anyone wondered where everything around them comes from? How do you think the UK emissions would look like if britain's industry was as strong as what it once was, producing steel and burning coal? Some of you should look into how much emission we have exported to thrid world countries but that ultimately are still caused by our consumption

Agree in parts, we also export our hypocrisy.

For instance our importation of LPG from the USA. This gas is from fracking, which is then liquefied, further polluting the atmosphere, shipped 3000 miles across the pond, turned back into natural gas, all of which causes even more pollution.

Much cleaner and more environmentally friendly if we frack our own gas, but eco zealots won't allow it.

From what I have seen, don't think it's as simple as that. Geological differences and fears in us being on a small island and, say, the US being on a much bigger one from what I've read.

depends what you read I suppose. I ask why not open one well, frack with both government and some agency such as friends of the earth, having access to all the data and let’s see. If the anti fracking fraternity are so sure that their dire predictions of doom are right, then a test we’ll will prove them right and kill the debate once and for all.

They won’t go for the of course as even the supposed earthquakes caused by the site near Blackpool only created a reading on the Richter scale, less than those being created by tunnelling on HS2 and Crossrail.

Very fewNIMBY’s around Blackpool who supported the sites already in place due to the jobs it would bring to the area
