ways to charge keys.

My Z4 isn't getting a lot of use at the moment, other than driving on long journeys what other ways are there to charge the keys.

I have heard that the key only has to be in aux position for it to be charging, which would make it possible to park on my drive, leave in aux and then lock the door with my other key, is it definitely true that it will charge in aux?

Does nobody sell a "desk" charger that allows keys to be charged in the home? there should be a market out there for one, particulalrly for cars that don't do a lot of mileage that lead spare keys vulnerable to loosing charge.

Sorry but don’t the keys have Batteries that need to be replaced from time to time as per other car keys. If this is correct pardon me for being daft but I never actually knew this. If this is the case do I need to use my spare key every now and then to keep it charged up

The keys charge from the car - so yes, its a good idea to use the spare from time to time.

Only ever used one of my keys in 4 n half years, just tried my spare and it unlocked with fob and everything seems fine, surely it would have drained power with no use in all that time.

I'm sure I read on here that putting them next to a plugged-in Braun electric toothbrush charger helped!

Yep, I used a toothbrush charger on my spare key & it worked a treat. It was totally flat so had to be synced with the car again for the remote function to work. There are several posts on here about it.

Yup, despite my skepticism this actually worked for me (thank god as I only have 1 key!), its been fine for about 4 months now.
