Waxoyling arches-

Hi all after getting wing rust sorted out on my e46,i treated the inside of the arches to a spraying of waxoyl,has anyone sprayed their wheel arches on their zeds as a preventative measure? Can it be done with the straw attachment without removing the plastic inner part?-thanks
 
Unless the surface is damaged or has been repaired the factory treated steel should not rust. I've used countless gallons of Waxoyl on classics over the years but would hesitate about recommending it on a Zed. Don't get me wrong, it's good stuff but can trap surface dirt and moisture and is flammable around high temperature components (engine bay, exhaust, brakes etc). It also smells when warm.

IMO unless you are protecting known damaged/repaired areas it's probably better to keep things cleaned regularly and check exposed surfaces for damage.
 
100% in agrement with Ewazix no need for waxoyl on a modern day car.
All the rust problems have been sorted out over the past 10 years by the OEM boys :D
 
Was it an E46 coupe, as they are known for rusty front wings where the wheel arch liner appear to rub. Again it's recommended to keep them clean rather treat.

Was it Megafactories that showed the Z4 being built? Anyway, in the paint plant, the shell goes through a corrosion resistant coating treatment that is applied by charging the shell and then dipping.

Please correct if I'm talking crap.
 
No it was a saloon srhutch,just dont fancy hosepiping under the rim again like i did on the e46 as i dont know if i made matters worse on that car(it was the way i was told to keep them clean) :cry:
 
is waxoyling a thing of the past?

with modern painting methods is corrosion a thing to worry about
