Guys:

I owe pictures since getting the car 2 months ago. It's been raining and haven't had a real chance to give my zed a good waxing. Finally this past weekend I did 4-coats of Zaino Z-2 with gloss enhancer in between coats. My car is silver grey metallic and I must say, never thought a light colored car can shine like this! So far loving Zaino products. Of course, it'll never be as deep as a black car, but at least my car doesn't look like crap after 2 weeks :).

Anyway, snapped a quick shot with my iphone.. sorry, the gf wasn't around and she is the one with the camera. I'll try to take more pics with a higher quality camera on another day.

Thanks guys for the wonderful comments about the finish. I put in several hours total (not including wait time) to achieve this shine.. let's just hope it lasts.

In another post, someone made a comment about the antenna length affecting radio performance. I'm an electrical engineer (though not practicing the low level stuff ever since leaving school) and definitely appreciate the fact that antenna length directly affects performance for AM radio (antenna length must match appropriately with wavelength). I know some of you are going to say "who uses AM anymore". You're right, I rarely ever use it, but I'm anal when it comes to knowing something just doesn't work quite right, even if I don't use it.

That said, I love the look of stubbies but also want to keep everything as stock as possible. :) I'll probably succumb when the novelty of the car wears off and I want to add personal touches!

My last car, I basically took apart the entire interior cabin and trunk multiple times over, in pursuit of sound quality. That car, which I still own, rattles and just took a lot of abuse. But it has very very sweet sound. On the zed, I'm just trying to avoid tinkering too much. I've been meaning to get the aux mod done so I can use my iphone and stop burning CDs.. but still pretty hesitant about taking apart the dash in risk of rattles

Stubbie... not that expensive, so worth a try - Mangowalk ship from the US anyway. But yeah, tried it, didn't work well enough, passed it on.

I took the air vents out to remove the radio, just two screws on that thankfully. The air vent is a real tight fit - mine took a good push to get back in. Even with my ham-fistedness it all went back in okay an no rattles :thumbsup:
 
Very nice - making me want to wash the car even more but can't as the hose/pipes are frozen up :cry:
 
Excellent job. I have just ordered some Zanio products on the back of the quality of the finish on your car. You are not on commision with them are you lol

I also wish you had touch based with me first.

My recommendation of what to purchase is as follows:

The total protection show car kit - this has all components to successfully achieve a really nice finish, including clay bar, polish,
The bucket with grit guard - this is very useful because it sifts out particles to bottom of the wash bucket to ensure you don't slap them back on to your car.
Z-16 tire gloss - this is a dream, i love this product. best tire loss i've ever used. it's water based and smells amazing. Beautiful matte finish with a tiny hint of a shine. Lasts two weeks pretty comfortably and no browning of the tire so far after 2 months.

When you actually end up doing it, make sure you touch base with me and I can help you with the process
