In the left hand side of the boot where the extensive BMW tool kit is located I also keep a small wind up torch, yesterday I used the torch and when I got it out the strap was soaked. On further investigation there was water in bottom of the cubby, we have had heavy rain, the back end of the cubby is open . Is there supposed to be a liner or something in there ?
 
i often get water in there, assumed it was because ive got aftermarket rear light from the previous owner
 
Well being a 61 plate and as it was owned previously by my brother in law I know the rear lights haven't been changed or that would be a good explanation. However as the rear of that cubby is just one big hole it seems almost incomplete
 
The cubby should be plastic box under the flap.
I know as i tried to lift it out once from under the velvet trim :wink:
