My drive is on a incline when i park the front of the car is uphill, after it has rained or the car has been washed, water sits either side of the rear screen and does not run away, when the water finally disappears it leaves my hood with stain marks.I will try parking it the other way round to see if this works but surely this should not happen,i have not checked the drain holes as the car is only a year old.

Try using a good quality cleaner and protectant so that the water doesn't soak in. I really like Raggtopp.

Download Shipkiller's "How to UnClog your SoftTop Drains" in the How to section. (Or http://www.shipkiller.com)

One way you can check the drain holes is to park on level ground and slowly add water to the lower section of the roof, it should then appear to come out around the rear wheel arches. If this dosnt happen then your drain holes are blocked.

I am assuming that you are parking the car with the top up when this problem occurs. If so, the drain holes are not part of the problem.

The first thing i did when i got the car was to clean the hood with raggtop cleaner then used the bmw impregnating fluid, when i clean the car i try not to get any water on the hood i prefer to vac the hood. After parking the car the other way round on the drive ie rear of the car up, it does not hold any water between the hood and the rubber seal on the bodywork, also cheked the drainage and water runs freely from infront of back wheel and from behind front wheel. Is this normal for water to come out from behind front wheel ! (remember car is parked on slope). Thanks for yoyr replys.
Water gathers here and does not drain away, when it is parked the other way round.

it is normal on such a slope 4 it to run to the forward wheel arch holes. if u park like this u shud have no probs.
