Water pump fuse

Hi, sorry if this is already on here but I'm in a hurry today. Looks like my Coolant/water pump has failed. I would like to check the fuse but can't find where it is located. Seems it's not in the glove box. Also I have noticed the fan isn't working now so does it run off the same circuit.
Thanks in advance for any replies

Hi, what makes you think the pump isn't working? Has your car overheated & have you checked the header tank for splits/leaks.
Also, are you referring to the rad fan or the interior fan?

Sounds like you have an si with the n52 engine, how many miles has it done?
Anything over 70k miles & the water pump is prone to failure, they're well known for it-don't run the engine without the pump working as these engines don't like being cooked
Through bmw a new pump is expensive, the same pump can be had for almost half price if you shop around.

Electric coolant pump

The electric coolant pump is self-diagnosable. It automatically detects e.g. whether the impeller is turning.

The pump can diagnose the following faults:
•Speed deviation

•Stiff movement or block by e.g. foreign bodies

•Incorrect mixture ratio coolant/water

•Air in the cooling system

•External start with 24 V battery

A41 is the fusebox in the glovebox. A6009 is the IVM under the bonnet, rounded corners almost upright.

Yeah I should have been more specific. 2006 3.0si n52. Cheers I'll have a look for that fuse. Got it diagnosed today with two faults 2E1E (coolant pump speed outside tolerance) and 2E82 (Coolant pump over current). There was another, 2EFE ( Electrical fan open circuit in wiring)
which explains the fan.
Yeah cooked a few times which is making me think bout headgaskets

How many miles has your car covered? Sounds like you need a new pump but it's not a big job & easy to diy

You could always do the head gasket for peace of mind, I've not had a proper look but assume it's fiddly rather than difficult.

If it's an N52 and genuinely "been cooked a few times" as you say I'd hold off paying for a pump until the engine has been properly compression tested and stripped if the head gasket has failed. Unfortunately a properly cooked N52 engine changes the structure of the magnesium shell and there is a fair possibility that the bolts can pull right out. There are methods of possibly getting around this but fact is a properly cooked engine might be scrap.

HG test has to be the first job if it's been badly overheated

Don't have much choice either way. If I get it tested first I would still probably have to fix it so I'm just gonna put a new pump and thermostat on and see where I am. Although it wasn't pumping water around it still had water in the block so that may help. Abit !!
