Water pump failure on Z4 Coupe 3.0Si

Hi,

Have had a problem recently with my Z4. It has been overheating and it has since been diagnosed with a faulty water pump.

I've contacted various motor factors trying to obtain a new water pump but to no avail. The one I require is electric and the two which I have been supplied with are both hydraulic.

I've been quoted £440 to have it repaired, however I was wondering if anyone else had experience a similar problem and it was in fact the water pump. I don't want to shell out the money if it isn't the problem.

I had mine replaced at Stratstone Newcastle under warranty.

The reason for replacing was they took it off to upgrade the cylinder head and forgot to store it in anti-freeze so it had to be replaced. I`ll dig out the receipt to see how much it was on the invoice.

The current part number for N52 electric water pumps is 11517586925. You'll also need the set of single use aluminium screws, 11510392553.
 
Eurocarparts want £354 for the pump alone (electric one) so looks like you found a good price.
