Although I wouldn't do it myself :o , I do have some sympathy. Plus the carpark wasn't busy anyway. Anyway, he's had some flak :)

I don't blame him ONE bit! and esp if the carpark isnt busy!
Maybe he could have parked in a far off corner though as does 'inconvene' other people who have to park further away from 'the target' lol

My good ladyfriend has her technique down and goes one, actually, two further by quadruple parking whenever she can to protect her p&j and I support her indefatigably and 100% for this!
On this occasion, we parked at the back of the carpark where no-one else wanted to park, furthest away from the beach access.

I always park like that, middle of 2 bays. Sick of idiots who don't give a s**t banging my cars. Problem is, now it's gone viral people will be getting wound up because they know it's intentional. Whereas before it could've been a case of bad parking.
 
Actually, if you look closely at the OP pic you can see that the silver SUV parked behind the black merc must also be taking two spaces....
 
The spaces are far to small to allow safe opening of doors, lots of damage has been caused by this shortcoming :(

You wouldn't like our works car park then. There too short as well. :roll:
 
This can go two ways. I always park defensively, correctly but well away from other cars. If the car park is full I will put it on the road etc and walk further to my destination.

I think in this day and age, you run the risk of winding someone up with inconsiderate parking and someone running their keys down the side of your P&J. Not exactly helping then is it?

I have seen loads of accidental but also ignorant damage caused to cars and people just walk off as it they haven't just cost the owner a few quid. Not one of my cars have any dings in them. I have kids who hold their hands around the doors when opening as they know their dad would go mental if they caught a wall or another car. Education and consideration is the key.

Probably a bit blatant in the middle of the show, but I now regularly 'squeeze' over in to the corner spot nobody wants preventing it's use and saving my paintwork. I've spent around £600 on magic repairs between my four cars in just two years and am, officially, pi$$ed off with people who can't open a door without using my car as a bump-stop :headbang:
 
Sometimes I think it would be better if there were no lines in car parks and people just parked a safe distance from each other.
 
For me it all comes down to the fact that If people were more considerate to others property then there would be no need to do this.
I always park as far away as possible from everyone else because of this to try and stop damage to my cars including overhanging other spaces ocassionally. I can't say i blame the astra driver one bit.
 
At work, I look for the 'magic' space in the carpark.
Where the cars parked to the left and right have their passenger doors next to the space I want.
Yes, some cars may carry 2 or more people...but majority cars have only 1 person.

............... all that careful consideration and you come back to find a huge battered mpv baby wagon, van or 4x4 wedged up on your door :pinch:
 
I dont do this but totally understand...my daily carries at least a dozen war wounds from inconsiderate twunts in car parks ...I've given up patching it up :(
 
I usually park in the far end of a car park well away from everything and anything. However 8 out of 10 times I can guarantee that some tw@t in a battered piece of sh1t will have parked next to me (usually badly) when I get back! Don't know why I bother.
