R ronk Lifer Durham Dec 14, 2013 #2 Definitely DO NOT do the egg thing! In my youth many years ago, I was persuaded to do it in my Cortina GT - It didn't cure the leak but it did consume much time to backflush boiled egg from the radiator core. :x

M Mowflow Senior member Glasgow Dec 15, 2013 #3 If it's on a pipe then self sealing silicone tape. I just used some to do a temporary fix on a power steering hose.
