Water leaking into boot

Evening all - While looking for my spare fuses I removed the panel in the boot to find it was wet on the top right hand corner. At first I thought water may have been leaking in through the lock but the panel is dry below where the lock is.
The problem seems to be where the boot and wheel arch meet. Maybe it's leaking down from the roof. The car hasn't been driven for a few weeks so no water has been thrown up into the arch. Could this be something to do with the roof drainage? Despite the torential rains it's not puddling but it's more than damp, if I squeeze the panel fabric it does form a drip. Here's a few pics. The red outline shows the wet patch. The other pics show the drivers side rear wheel arch by the battery compartment. The rusty bolt is where the problem seems to be ocrurring.

Water ingress into the boot is typically caused be a degraded seal on the vents (search boot vents on here).

It can also be the angle the car is parked at (so I've read) front facing up hill and water in. Face down hill and no issue. I did have a wet boot after leaving my car facing up the drive, now facing down and it's dry.
I will check again to confirm this works.
I know your parking place is quite level David, I wonder if the monsoon we had, was enough to force water in ???

Hi Fred. As you say, the ground here is level. It's obviously been happening for a while for the bolt to be rusty... :|

Check the third brake light is not cracked at corners and is sealed correctly
This was the issue on mine, it leaks through light and runs down underside of boot lid and ends up puddles in the corners of boot

Yep, I got that one a while back. I've since refitted a third light using CT-1 adhesive sealant, so that's not the problem here, the damp is away from below the brakelight.

Well, I checked my boot again after the monsoon we had and it's bone dry. So parking with the nose down hill, really works.
