Water leak :-(

Cracker

Driving over a large speed hump today, heard it scrap my front lip, pulled over fearing the worst but on inspection just a small scrape mark on engine guard/cover on the offside front corner. Thought nothing of it.
1/2hr later whilst still driving my coolant light popped on, never done it before so topped up when cool,
After an afternoon in & out of the car I looked under the bonnet & the gaurd at the bottom was damp, I opened the coolant top up, the float stick was nowhere to be seen, I see a white float thing in there?
Does anyone know of anything in the front bottom offside corner I might of pushed up/snapped with the hump?
Also how do I get my float stick thing back?
Cheers for reading

Radiator maybe?

Common sources of water leaks are the thermostat gasket failing (new thermostat needed) and expansion tanks cracking.

Both aren't expensive to fix, but are time consuming jobs.

You will easily be able to see if these are leaking as you'll see the coolant on the block if the thermostats leaking, whereas you'll have a patch of coolant on the floor if the tank is cracked.
