Water leak/problem is back! Help!

After my well documented problem with water in my passenger foot well and under my passenger seat seemingly being solved by a new door seal (the one that runs along the bottom part) it seems I am still having water get in to the car :x :|

I have checked and it is getting in the same place as last time, just above the BMW door sill cover, the rubber along there has just been replaced though. I am now wondering if it is the rubber bit around the wing mirror or the other door seal rubber which runs along the top part.

This comes after being the happiest I have been since owning the car yesterday, after installing my LED sidelights and number plate lights and HID kit. Aw well, time to get this problem solved for good!!

Any tips or help would be great guys! :thumbsup:
 
Part 3 (the seal) on this diagram was one possible culprit I thought:

The other seal I am thinking of is the part labelled '14' in the below link, no part number though? Can anyone help me out there?

I know how you feel,

Was out in z today and airbag light came on, though it might be the passenger seat bypass module, so moved seat only to find footwell under seat soaking wet!!!

Took seat out and pulled carpet apart to see loads of water, 1/4 of a bucket !!! Think my issue was from hardtop not fitting right, also took rear wheel arch line off to check drain hole, this was fine but found a nail in my 2 week old tyre. No happy.

Door seal on mine looks ok, still drying car out with heater.....

I have poured water on roof and it drains out at bottom drain hole.

I am in the same boat as Mac (pardon the pun!) first thing I did when I got the car was clear and check the drains, they were never bad anyway. I am thinking door membrane, or one of the two rubber seals I mentioned in the first 2 posts.

Having read earlier threads about leaks more or less all day, I found a tip on how to test the door membrane. Open the door, window up and pour a watering can or gentle hose along where the window goes in to the door (from the outside!), if the membrane is intact then no water should appear on the inside of the bottom of the door. After doing this test, the inner part of my door had a steady flow dripping out from under the door card! Quite a lot of water actually. Think I may have found the culprit?
 
Just a further update on this thread. Took the door card off and could clearly see an area where the door membrane had come away from the adhesive. Did the test again with the door card off and the water was flying out of the gap. I wasn't for giving the stealers £20 for the membrane so I sealed it with silicone and secured the membrane back in place, did the test again and Robert's your father's brother, no more water coming out. Hoping that this is the leak fixed now. Will keep an eye on it for a while just to be sure. Probably didn't need the £55 door seal that I replaced last time then :headbang: Aw well.
