so i finally found where ive been having water coming into my trunk. the only issue is, i cannot figure out how to remove the panel that needs to be taken out.

the panel is circled in red which is right above the trunk lid and right below the end of the top needs to come off (it is painted).

i found 4 torx bolts in the trunk area (circled in red) and removed them. but the panel still does not budge. any idea on how to take this panel off? i checked realoem.com and it doesnt look like it has any other bolts to remove. the only other bolts i found in that area are for the top itself and not part of the panel.

any help is appreciated!

Why remove that piece? It the water coming in from the seal of the softtop?

If so, the seal just pulls out. Check out the How-To section on removing your soft-top and look how that seal comes out.

I just removed my complete top to fix the motor. It is really easy to pull the seal.

well it looks like it is coming from the edge of that panel on the passenger side. i saw it dripping when it rained on the inside and the only way i could get a look at that spot would be to take off that panel. ill have to remove that seal and see if there are bolts under there

I just got the car out of storage this week and went to the coin wash where you use the tools to wash the car yourself. I used the pressure washer and looks like water got in my trunk too. Didn't notice it as it only looks like it got in the battery compartment UNDER the trunk. So no water normal part of the trunk.

I didn't notice the water getting in there orginally, but the stereo in the car just stopped working today, washed the car about 5 days ago. I assume it stopped working because the amp got wet and shorted. (that black box beside the battery is the amp right?). Can anyone give me anything else to look for other than a blown fuse?

TIA
