Water issue. Again! Roof drain question.

What part or parts do you think would be worth investigating? Could you point them out on a diagram or picture? I think that might be something worth looking at, I just don't see where else it could possibly be coming from!
 
On more careful inspection, I'm convinced my initial theory is bogus. If anything, water coming in this way would end up in the boot. Even if the drips were to run along the rim bottom all the way forward before falling off, they would be on the outside side of the door gasket, so now I don't think this entry mode is feasible at all for the passenger compartment.

About all I can think of at this point is water is coming in through the somewhat typical failed door membrane or similar door leakage modes. It could be possible for the water to run under the carpet and collect somewhere such that the original ingress path is not evident. The only remaining evidence is the collected water. How it got there has dried up so there is no possibility of back tracing to the point of entry.
 
It definitely doesn't seem to be the door membrane. I have opened the door and then poured water over the outside of it and there is no sign of any leakage that would get anywhere near the cabin of the car. I am now beginning to wonder if it could be coming from the front and making it's way to the back. What would be the possible leak sources towards the front of the car?
 
There's a thread regarding blockage of the drains near the windscreeen that caused water to leak into the passenger compartment. I'll try and look it up.
 
Appreciate that! If you find it, please put a link on here. I really need to resolve this issue once and for all. It's so infuriating! :headbang:

I had these symptoms and cleared these drains and stopped parking on an incline. but I think the main thing that helped was driving the car more often.
 
Cheers pal. I will get at that later this week. I am 99.9% sure the issue isn't coming from the side or rear of the car, so something must be going on at the front.
 
Have you had the door card(s) off to check the integrity of the membrane(s)? Not a difficult job DIY.
Having just done mine, I could get 3 fingers through the gap in the butyl strip. I had been convinced it was door seals beforehand. Also a good time to add sound deadening, if the membranes are shot.
Careful use of a kettle of cold water with someone in the car with a good torch might help. Lots of help on here or YouTube vids how to.
 
I have indeed had the door card off, it was definitely contributing to my water ingress but I have resolved this issue. The current water problem is definitely coming from a different source.
