Water dripping from under car

Hi All

I'm new to the Z4, E85, only had the car 3 weeks and this is probably a stupid question which I must admit I'm asking because I cant be bothered after a hard days work to get the car up on axle stands to investigate further.

I noticed tonight after reversing into the drive a trail of drips roughly in the centre of the path the car had taken, looked underneath and saw a drip, drip drip, from a point just past the end of the gearbox, checked the small puddle under the car and it was water, got my hand right under the car and the drips appear to be coming from an open ended rubber hose fitting fixed to the side of the transmission tunnel, am I right in assuming that this is the air-conditioning drain? therefore normal.

And yes I have previously introduced myself and my car in the Newbie section. :)

Yep, 100% normal airco drips.

Brilliant thanks for that

I thought it was especially as I couldn’t see why there would be water leaking from anything else in that part of the car, now if it had been my previous MG TF, I would have been worried as the coolant pipes run from the front of the car to the engine at the back.

Got to say this BMW E85 is worlds apart from the TF, and as for this forum again worlds apart from the MGF Register forum I previously subscribed to, funny though I was really into moding the TF, and spent huge amounts of money doing it but with the BMW it doesn’t seem right to change it, it has everything I need, I will change the aerial to a stubby though so I’m in keeping with the consensus on here :D

+1

Just to confirm, try not using the aircon, then checking after parking and another time again the same but after using Aircon.

As they say the water is normal air-con condensation ............. and the stubby isn't mandatory
