Me neither, I don't "get" watches at all. Even if I won the lottery I wouldn't buy one.

Couple of questions for the experts - why does the supply and demand remain the way it does, why don't the manufacturers just make more to sell more? And why are watches so expensive, hand made or something?
 
Because watches are like antiques and artworks. They are not consumable items, and can be passed from generation to generation.
 
Rolex Submariner and IWC Portuguese.

Rolex purchased for £2.9k new three years ago. Same watch now £4k new and could trade in for £3k. That's the beauty of Rolex. Also believe it or not, on the waiting list to get on the waiting list for a Rolex Daytona. Barking mad eh !
 
Rolex can guarantee value, used prices will only go up. The RRP of my Seamaster is now 26% higher than what I paid for 10 years ago (slow but appreciated).
 
I am not a watch fetishist, but I treated myself to a Tag Heuer F1 because I liked the look of it, and the name is very, very close to my own surname. In fact, my local Thai restaurant call me Mr Tag Heuer. Yes, I admit it. I am a sausage eating squarehead but also with Scots, Irish and Dutch/Spanish/Portuguese Jewish roots. Who the hell I am going to cheer on in the world cup is anyones guess.
 
Did anyone notice the watch advert above the banner, Rolex/Omega watches for $49? Are they made in Thailand? :rofl:

Another watch fetishist here too, IWC for me. Currently alternate between a Portugese auto, classic pilot auto and my fave this Port 7 day auto:

I've got a couple of Fossil's (one's a titanium Speedway no idea on the other) and a Storm for everyday use and another load that need batteries and a Nautica (it's gold with brown leather strap) that I bought at New Year for 300 quid and struggled to pay that much for a watch, so you can see I'm really into them big time.

I did see a BRM Red Hands in an in flight magazine about 18 month's ago and thought it was the dog's dangleys, clear face so you could see all the cogs and sprckets but at £13K, I think not.
 
Evening Gents,

I have a Blue Tag Monaco and a Casio G-Shock.

I've had the Tag for about 6 years now and have never seen anything better looking (IMHO).

A classic timepiece. G-Shock is great everyday watch.

Right, now back to the snooker! :D
 
I have and Omega speedmaster mid size in white which is my summer watch, a small Omega seamaster for everyday and a Rolex datejust for dress
 
I have a TAG professional. Bought from an acquaintance that wore it maybe twice. paid 260 quid

pulsar titanium solar powered

lumi nox, navy seal dive. new from ebay for 61 quid. This is a great sports watch and tough as a brick. love the tritium illumination.

Original model seiko kenetic. That needs a new capacitor installed.

Breitling superocean (as far as i know the only one made of all brushed titanium got it done when i lived in basle ) and a tag f1 for work
 
Rolex in Stainless Steel, wear it every day and have done for 27 years. Have a timex for digging in the garden but I usually forget to switch :D , also have a Raymond Weil.

Picked up an oddball in mexico a couple of years ago, a fake rolex , normally I hate them and want to destroy them all but this one actually weighs the right amount and is a "Self wind" ...It's so odd to see a self wind fake that I had to buy it. I was having fun haggling with the guy for two days so I felt guilty if I didn't buy it....

....... I refuse to wear it, I keep it in the bedroom in a cabinet, it's good bait for a burglar so they don't dig too deep......just in case.

my day to day that is barely off my wrist is a breitling colt, I bought it 16 years ago. Two years before that I bought a Tag F1 the old rubber strapped version in blue( still have it in box not worn since I bought Colt). I have several Armani and Hugo Boss dress watches, also a couple of sports watches with heart monitors, and cycling add ons etc.
My fave at the moment that I bought in St Maartens this year was a Hublot. Swithered about it for a while but just had to get it.
Could probably sell my watches and buy another Z!!! :oops:

I love watches, but simply can't afford a proper decent one... I have a Tag carrera calibre 17 fake from malasia! It's a pretty decent fake, a good weight to it and keeps good time, most people can't tell the difference to a genuine carrera... But most people don't know qhat they're looking at; anyone who knows their tags would take one look at it and know it's a fake :)
 
I love watches too!
My everyday watch is a blue TAG HEUER Carrera automatic chrongraph, bought for me by my wife last year (about half price from the outlet shop in Bicester).
I also have a 1960's wind-up OMEGA Seamaster chrongraph, which I rarely wear.
A metal Swatch, a Seiko chronograph and a Loctite-McLaren Mercedes give-away for gardening, cycling, etc
