Hello,

My wife want to watch TV during our long travel in our new Z4.

How can she watch TV when I ride higher than 2 ou 3 km/h ?

Thanks

You'd need a 'TV in motion cable' (e-bay). It's a short lead that fools the car into thinking that the handbrake is on. However, in the UK at least you are prohited from watching whilst in motion.

I fitted a double din stereo to my m3 and I earthed the parking brake cable. This tricks the unit into believing the handbrake is applied. If this unit works on the same principle, you need to find the parking brake cable and earth it to the black wire behind the stereo, that will do the trick!

It would on a replacement stereo, but doesn't on the oem stuff. I believe the IBus of the car knows whether it's stationary or not, which is why the module is £40 or so.

Its easy and a cheap mod, just send away your TV module to be re-coded. A compyany called Pegasus sound and light did mine, and from recollection it came to £40 including postage.

Link above lists it as for an X3, but I couldnt manage to find the right link for the Z4.

I can thoroughly recommend them, I send my tuner and had it back within 4 working days. Worked 1st time, and has been fine since.
