Afternoon folks.....

So, I’ve decided to embark on a fun filled car dedicated weekend.
I’m going to be in serious need of a drink after what I’ve got planned.

Its been a while since i've done any real maintenance of the car.....so, here's my plan for the weekend.

1. Repair a scratch on the front passenger wing
2. Repair a scratch on the rear drivers side quarter panel
3. Clean soft top drain vents.
4. Full clean. My process
* Rinse down
* Foam
* Rinse
* Wash
* Rinse & dry
* Clay
* Rinse
* Polish with my new Meguiars DA polisher
* Wax
5. Retrofit Cruise Control stalk
6. Plug in my diagnostics kit and enable a few tweaks – passenger window close, soft top open and close via key, memory seats via keys
7. Remove the “black” box to make space for the exhaust.

Just writing all that out seems like a lot to do this weekend……eeek!!

Oh well, I’ll post up pics of my progress…..

oh and, by this time next week, my quad exhaust will be fully installed.

removed the existing system
cat back --> 2 small boxes --> X pipe --> back box on each side with black chrome tail pipes.

Uber excited!

Sounds like a decent list, interested to see the results, especially in the passenger window one touch.

That's a big list, good luck. You can save some time, don't need to dry the car before claying you only going to get it wet again with lube..

Thanks for the advice Turbokid.

Liam-O, the scratches are about 12 inches long on each panel.

car got keyed a while ago.
If it doesnt come out right, i'm going to end up getting it sprayed, but its worth a shot fixing it myself first.

will post pics up of before and after of course.

Morning folks!

So, I'll post up the pics over the next few days.

Things didn't quite go according to plan.
My brand new Megs polisher didn't work - was a dead unit. So I couldnt tend to the scratches. I did however do a complete wash and the car looks pretty amazing.
My laptop decided to run out of hard drive space so I couldn't get the BMW software on there.....going to rebuilt my laptop during the week and start again.

I did however fit the cruise control stalk :-)

Tomorrow - another coat of wax
Remove the black box and plug the pipes

After I rebuild my laptop I'm going to have another go at the coding.

All this cleaning is making me feel guilty. Oh well better get out there with my Turtle Wax all in one shampoo and wax, that'll kill an hour ;)

I do have a load of Meguiars stuff, clay etc. Just want a spare day to do it all then when I've got a good base I'll use decent stuff every week, so for now I just want a quick win getting the worst off.

Looking forward to seeing the pictures! I need to encouragement.
