Washing the headlights... Strange thing

Hi All

Strange thing about the washer.

When i wash the windscreen sometimes i can see the car washing the headlights too. The thing is that is not always washing the headlights ( not every time i pull the level to wash my windscreen)

Another weird thing is that i dont have that "end device" on my bumper for washing the headlights. So where is the water going to? Inside the bumper?

I removed the bumper and i saw i have the pumps there ( already installed) for washing the headlights but i dont have the HEAD ( it is just a cap there painted in the same colour as the bumper)

So how do you wash exactly the headlights on Z4. Should i look for a washer head and replace those caps?

Is there a special button to only wash the headlights so i can test it?

Thanks

The headlights are washed only every 3rd time - and only if the lights are on.

If there's no washer head on the pop-ups then they've probably frozen at some time and not been replaced.

Hehehe

So i guess i will have to go buy washer heads. The strange thing is that the cap replacing the head is painted like the bumper.. it looks like original setting.

Don't thin the heads/sprayers come separate - hence the reason the previous owner didn't replace them. You have to replace the whole nozzle assembly at about £60/side.

The look like this...

If your's look like this, then you've lost the head/sprayer...

There are other posts on here regarding headlight washers which may help.

Hi

Now i got it. I have them both in OK condition. So when the sprayer goes off the cap goes up and the sprayer wash the headlight.

Hehehe.. i thought i need some sort of head there similar to windscreen washer head with 2 holes in it :)

Thanks
