Mine sits in a garage, so winter/summer doesn't make much difference. No salting of the roads or grit where I am (except the rare snowfall in which case the Z4 doesn't see outside anyway) so it doesn't get too mucky. But being black, it is the world's most effective dust magnet, so I will usually wash it at least every 2 weeks; snowfoam and/or bucket and 'noodle glove', chamois dry

Most of the damage to car paint is done during the drying process. Touchless drying is the only way, so I use a resin based vessel that filters the water, so when the water dries - it leaves no marks.

Also, I use a car dryer (air blaster) to dry the hinges, wheels etc.

So when you rinse with your filtered water you just leave it to dry and use the dryer to remove water from the awkward areas? Interesting.. may have a couple of additions to my XMAS list :wink:

I currently pat dry with the above towel.

In the summer, I only use the filtered water and let it dry by itself without the blaster.

In the winter, I use the blaster in addition as the drying is so slow otherwise.
