There is a thread on here somewhere about someone who had massive electrical damage from doing this, melted wires, holders etc,remember seeing it while doing one of the many searches to cure this problem, there was pics.... a right mess!!

Actually he used carbon chloride not silica gel, hence the massive issues.

Even Aston Martin headlights have silica gel packs in the access hatch these days. Very different to carbon chloride!!!

I'd suggest that it's the hot air with a little moisture in it that's meaning when you seal it up, it still condensates.
Either try to get the unit inside and dry it out thoroughly, (air cupboard or similar) and take it out, seal it all up in the house and away you go.
What happening here is like the reverse of a can of coke out the fridge.
That can isn't wet, but you take it out the fridge and within 5 minutes there's condensation all over it. So you heat the light up with the hair dyer, then let it cool rapidly outside due to the ambient temperature, water droplets form.
So maybe the answer is to dry it out with hot, then before sealing it all up, turn the heat on the hair dryer off and hit it with cold air for a while. When it's cooled right down, then seal it up.
