Steph and I out checking routes for the Border run when we saw three Lotus/Caterham 7s heading our way as we got back in the Zed at the Kielder car park. Caught them up for a very enjoyable run to Hawick (it's a fabulous road). They were like scalextrics on the corners and looked to be on rails. They carried loads of corner speed and it was hard work keeping up - managed though through late braking and using all the Zed's engine performance. Of course they were faster through the tight twisties but we stayed with them.
When they pulled up in Hawick we had a word. Turned out they were doing a UK tour. The driver in the yellow '7' was the North Kent Area Representative of the Lotus 7 club and he was accompanied by a couple from Holland and another member from Kent. Very friendly and had been impressed we'd kept up - (it was quite a challenge :!: )
Suffice to say we now have an invite to Holland (email address supplied) along with the 'card' of the area representative which I think was a great idea and is something we could consider for the Z4 forum?
It wouldn't be too difficult to produce such a 'business card' for the fZ4orum - I was impressed when the Lotus 7 guy handed me a card - perhaps we could do something similar to hand out to Z4 owners we meet?
Thoughts?
