warranty question

I had an unfortunate accidental run in with a stone wall just before Xmas - broken NS alloy, damaged front quarter, dented NS wing and torn NS sill. At present my 09 Z4 is awaiting delivery of parts for repairs in a bodyshop nominated by my insurers, who assure me the car will be repaired to BMW spec. Looks likely to take some time! I would appreciate any advice on where I now stand with the BMW manufacturers warranty after repair.

The warranty wouldn't cover body panels anyway, but any mechanicals will still be covered if they use genuine BMW parts.

The only part of the BMW warranty that might be void is the anti-corrosion/perforation warranty for any bodywork/paint, but those should be covered by the warranty of the repairer for 2-5 years.

However, as the policy holder, it is for you to chose the repairer of your choice, not the repairer that the insurance company nominates, as they're only interested in doing it for the lowest cost.

Agree - would have nominated a BMW dealer to do the work to avoid and warranty issues.
