Hi everyone, my cars now 3 years old (2.0 SE) and i'm going for the top level BMW extended warranty and have been quoted £442 for the year with 0 excess and no breakdown. I just wanted to know if anyone has managed to get it cheaper by haggling and if yes what tips do you have to get it cheaper?

Cheers

Never haggled, and a doubt they will give a discount. I've always paid for the one you are looking at. Great value if you need to use it, peace of mind if you don't.

No discount available at all. They said if I wanted a cheaper warranty then I should go for one with a higher excess :headbang:

No discount for BMWCCGB members either. In fact, BMWCC recommend/approve Warranty Direct (who don't cover ///Ms) :headbang:

Worth a try, i wasnt really bothered to much with the cost but was just seeing if you could get it any cheaper.

Is it much different to the AUC warranty as the terms and exclusions look pretty much the same.

The level of cover goes something like this - in order of the amount of items they cover:

1) BMW New Car Warranty - covers everything (with some wear & tear exceptions)
2) BMW Approved Used Car Warranty - covers most things (with exclusions for wear & tear and some on a case-by-case basis)
3) BMW Insured Comprehensive Warranty - cover most things (with more exclusions for ancillaries like air-con & sat-nav)
4) BMW Insured Named Component Warranty - Mechanical and electrical breakdown cover for a wide range of your vehicle's components
5) BMW Insured Drivetrain Warranty - The basic level of warranty, covering the main engine, transmission and drive-train components

The 3 year warranty on my Coupe runs out at the end of this month and I've been wondering about extending it.

Not sure whether or not it's actually worth it but I guess it's just your luck as to if something major goes wrong with the car or not.

It's going in to the garage for a check tomorrow as my emissions light had been coming on and then it needs to get serviced next week (Inspection 1).

Those two garage trips should flag up if anything is wrong that needs fixing under the current warranty I guess.

Its more peace of mind knowing that i wont have any surprises to pay out for. Components on the Z4 car be very expensive.
