Warranty Dilemma...should I dealer service on a 2003 car?

Hi guys,

hope you are all well...

I have the impending oil service coming up. The car is a 2003 and has clocked around 60k miles. The car was bought in Nov 2009, and in that time I have clocked 15k miles. Now i have 600 miles left till the oil service.

The car was bought AUC, but after my terrible experience at Benham in Wolves i am considering going to a reputable indie...

The Indie is charging me £165 for the oil service, whereas Wolves are charging me £227...

Nothing has gone wrong with the car yet.

The only reason i am thinking of maintaining the dealer warranty is if the roof goes. I am leanign heavily towards the Indie as I was shafted by Benham when i took my car in for some warranty work..

Is there not another dealer you can use, thus maintaining what's left of your warranty? Even if it's further away it could be the better option if you've had a crap experience at your nearest one. I'd even try a cheeky request to price match the indy...

£227 for an oil service from a main dealer? is this correct. have you shopped round as i am sure i read somewhere that the oil service was far cheaper than that?

Or supply your own oil. The oil service on my M was less then that.

Replacement roof motor is around £270 IIRC from posts on here recently. If that is your only concern regarding warranty, pocket the money for that rainy day (excuse the pun) and use an indi or dealer for service work.
