Warning to a Z4 Prat!

I don't block, but if you come screaming up the outside lane and cut up inside the area where the cones are coming in when everyone else has merged and make them all brake, you're a twat

shall we add the dickheads who insist on squeezing in at the last minute where there are lane closures that have been posted for two miles into the hate category?

Police have actually actively stopped people who "block" others from overtaking them before the lane closure.

I have seen the "You are not overtaking me, 'cos I pulled in earlier" type try and block others from going past also.
Its a two mile notice for a reason, and usually the 'Dickhead' at the end is trying to get in because no one would allow him in earlier, and the further he goes the more difficulty he has...
Maybe the dickheads are the one's who believe they have a right not to allow the merge....

You mean those that have read the highway code and use all available road :poke:

Otherwise you simply move the traffic jam two miles earlier ...

oh don't try and put the 'zip system' onto these UK people... they just don't get it.... far better to queue up nice, and quiet and sit for 400000 miles rather than using all the road and MERGE IN TURN... :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

the zip system works in every country in mainland Europe... but the Brits are far too stupid to understand and utilise it..

:poke:

I think some people just hate being passed, whether its on the right or left, or when queueing.

It's been a long time since there has been any activity in the zip area in any of my cars.

Or out of the car come to that!

... Also been pulled for it by an off duty cop in a slow Corsa for undertaking him. Stern warning received about the dangers. I do some stupid things on the road, less as I get older and value my car and life more and more...

Of course, he had no right to stop you and you no need to stop since he was off duty... :P

I undertook a motorcycle travelling at sixty miles an hour and hogging the middle lane of the A3 only to see the word "Police" written on the fuel tank as I did so (I'm sure I didn't miss it on the back of the bike) :headbang: Fortunately, I was working in the local Accident and Emergency Department and it turned out that the traffic cop knew me well 8)

Yes - aware and discussed the on the forum in detail at the time it happened. He apologised for not having blues, etc. but his warrant card was enough for me not to give him a 'race' and I was fully aware I was in the wrong for my antics.

Had a couple of different 500hp cars out today and was fully aware of old bill watching me closely so no unorthodox manoeuvres. Also spent time with Ian Callum, but that another story :)

Despite the fact that if you get in lane early you don't need to merge in turn and there is no jam. :poke:

Recent roadworks on the M4 confirmed this. Once people had got used to them people got in lane earlier and traffic flowed. It only takes one arse wanting to be ahead of everyone else for it to snarl up with stop start traffic
I agree, everyone should pull into line well before, but just leave me one little space before the cones to nip in :poke:

there is a concensus on here it seems - we all like people to move over for us, but wont move over for any wankers up our arse and we reserve the right to pass bleedin slow daydreamers on any side we bleedin like, but woe betide any tosser that undertakes us or in our presence, as for lane reductions, we will continue along the outside lane until the last moment but wont let any other bugger in if they do

think that just about covers it :-)

I dont think ive been on any car forum that hasnt had a thread about under taking - The same old points over and over

I try to imagine that the person who is holding me up or 'hogging' the middle lane is my old grandpa who bless him was not the best or quickest road user. I would feel very pissed if someone were bullying him or tearing past him. Usually puts it in perspective.

The road unfortunately has to be shared, not owned. A little difficult for some peoples egos, including mine at times.

Sadly the middle lane hog is not exclusively an old grandad. I'll not mention any groups, but there are many other than old folks based on glancing as I pass.

My taxi driver shot straight in the middle lane when joining the motorway at 5 in the morning when there was no traffic about.

Guess they see it as the driving lane somehow. Then again, his English was so poor that I could not ask him.

All of this chatter about this subject just proves to me we ALL need tuition to drive on motorways which None of us have, its about time it was mandatory for you to pass the test :fuelfire:

You are wrong there - it seems only that in the UK you don't get tuition, in NL where I got my license we had lessons on the motorway and it was part of our driving test as well.

...and many UK drivers go on to take Pass Plus or other forms of training that include motorway tuition, inc al my family.

I was going down loughborough road last month roof down... With sighs of roadworks, so 2 lanes down to 1. Were huge tailbacks... prob about 1 mile long due to it. Some idiot in a 4x4 drove down the centre of the road blocking the right hand lane... I flashed him he gave me some abuse... Its people like him who dont allow the use of the whole road which cause tailbacks... Whats up with queue culture in this country :headbang:

Classic video of a lane hogger getting what he deserves. Excuse the language.

Haha loved that.... The colourful language made it more entertaining!

Apologies to all members not in the UK I meant the UK. Pass Plus Yes but it still isn't Mandatory, which In my opinion it should be and until all us have had this training this motorway madness will continue.

+1 on motorway training.... I still find it hard to believe new drivers get taught all about driving slowly in town etc, but can then jump onto a motorway, probably the fastest they've been without any training...
