On the way to workthis morning my brake light came on yellow and also did my tire press light and trac off light, tire pressures good and brake fluid level fine, i think something failed in the abs system, is there a way to pull codes, my scanner wont read and i can't find anything in alldata and identafix

I looked under thecar to make sure i didn't snagged anything, also i tired disconnecting the battery for a while, but lights still on when battery connected. I havn't checked the fuses yet.

What year is your car? Does it have the tire pressure monitoring system based on ABS or on in-tire sensors? Did you check the brake fluid? Sorry that's not much help.....

checked all that already still really havn't had time to put it on the lift and check things out, buut i think i might have a bad wheel bearing in the right front, felt a pop when backing out of parking space tonight, could have taken out abs sensor, will looked tomorow maybe

ABS sensor is a good starting point... Make sure they are connected and try to reomve them and clean them... All the lights you mentioned self reset...

Had that problem once. All those same warning lights came on all at once, and would not go off. It turned out to be the steering angle sensor needed adjusting. If you have recently had a front-end alignment, something may have happened then. Have your technician check the sensor.

humm never thought of that, i alighned my car about 10k miles ago. the lights didn't come on till i pulled out going to work and the trac kick on. I do all my own work when i can get a chance at work. Is this steering angle sensor adjustable without having bmw do it? Also i found out that my abs is working.

BMW recommands to reset the 0 (zero) of the steering angle every time the car gets an alignment done on a car equipped with DSC. It's done with the GT1.

Mine did not happen right away either. It happened once, a few weeks after the alignment, so I did not suspect that immediately. The first time it happened, they turned off again after re-starting the car. Then it happened again about a month later, on a long road trip, and the warning lights would not go off no matter what. My independent tech found the problem using a diagnostic scanner, and re-set the sensor. So it should be fixable at any good shop.

Re-setting the sensor fixed mine, and it has not happened again in almost 2 years.

well at my shop we have Genesis scanner but it doesn't have the european software, i have a friend thatt works at a shop with the Snap on modis scanner that i know has the european software since i used to work there, going to see if they will let me use it.

Similar fault-( all brake related warning lights, and tyre sensor) happened to me last year but speedo also stopped working, BMW first thought it was the rear off side ABS sensor which also works speedo but turned out to be the brake sensor unit (thing where all the brake pipes meet under the bonnet) which has a control box full of expensive electrics that had gone kaput. It was fixed under warranty thankfully :)

They have stayed on all this time, and you have not found a cause? Chances are they will come back on eventually. Mine did, until I had that sensor reset.

is the steering angle sensor, it jus happened to me 2 weeks ago, and i took it to alignment shop to fix the alignment, after alignment i drove for 10 miles and the 3 lights(brake, tire pressure, traction) are off... :P :P :P

Just had that problem BMW Z4 2005 2.5 with 17,000 miles. All those same warning lights came on all at once, and would not go off. Since the BMW stated that vehicle could be driven I ignored the lights, turned out to be the steering angle sensor needed to be "re-programmed", If you have recently had a front-end alignment, something may have happened then. The light used to go on and off, when off I pressed the DTC (10 minutes) and all the lights when off for good, why? Who knows?

When I just had my Z4 I occasionally had these three lights go on immediately after starting the car. I'm pretty certain that (at least in my case) it was battery related, here's why... If I unlock the car and turn on the ignition, but don't start the engine until the fasten seat-belts light goes out, then I never have any problems. I think that waiting that long (well, it only takes a few seconds...) allows all the electronics to boot up with a relatively stable power supply. Starting the car too soon probably messes up some calibration. Just my .02.
