Warning : Artist at work

Hi,
Last night this warning display flashed up when I returned to my car and attempted to start.
For a moment, the starter button didn't work, had me worried, then it fired up the display cleared and everything was fine.
I've not been able to find this icon anyway in discussions or the handbook.

What is it?
Folding mirrors? Car alarm? Doors?

Can anyone recommend an art gallery that I may approach with my work?

Thx

Are you leaking wifi at the front and back?

Issue with PDC?

I can't help – but I'd stick to writing music..... ;)

Has the problem recurred or is it a one off?
Might be worth manually turning PDC on and off, see what happens!

Nice picture...

I get that one too. I have no idea what it means (so I ignore it for the moment!) :D

although I suspect this is what it is...something to do with parking brake...

Thx Guys,
I knew you'd be impressed with my artistic skills.
I've also an unmade bed I'm thinking of offering at Christie's!

Some very interesting and useful suggestions.
I never use the electronic h/brake (it's auto)?
Perhaps, I didn't clock it at the time but maybe selector wasn't in "Park"?

eh? mines not. If I did that it'd definitely roll away.... but maybe the newer models are...

I think he means his car is an auto. Leaves it in park

I think it may be the collision & pedestrian warning system showing a fault. Your car must have this system fitted possible from a safety pack option?

There are two rams which tilt the bonnet forward on impact, to minimise injury. Active pedestrian safety or something.

Perhaps one of the sensors has malfunctioned?

Hopefully there is not an issue with one of the rams, as I have read they can be costly to replace.

Any proof of this one? it only happens to me I think when I get out of the car, and its running.... not when you turn it on.

You need to find out if you have this system fitted - get your VIN decoded and it should tell you.

I don’t think it’s a warning system as such but a pedestrian safety system that cushions the impact when you plough into them :P
I think it came in with the lci facelift

I think all E89s have active pedestrian safety.

The below link has some similar issues, mainly the sensor input changing with temperature, which could explain why the error only occurs with the engine running.

The link mentions a 2013 car, I’m fairly certain cars before this (pre lci) didn’t have it fitted.

what I meant was, where is your proof of this being the cause. The arrows suggest it saying be careful the car might move forward or backwards. Not that a system is failing! I'd expect something with a bonnet on the picture if that was the cause..(i do have it by the way!)

I hope you are right! Apparently it can be catastrophic if goes wrong! (New bonnet)
