Hi Guys,

On the lookout for a second hand Z4. Need some advice on what to look out for when buying one.

I know I like the look of the dark grey and black Z4's. I ideally want a hardtop, I presume this can be bought seperatly?
Engine size, not too sure on which I want but trying to see how this effects the cost.

I ideally am looking at spending £13k but can go up to £15k tops if I see something I really like.

If anyone is selling one and falls in the price and colour spec I may be interested. I'm based in Maidenhead so ideally something in a 50 mile radius.

Hope someone can advise.

Cheers
Steve

Black, hardtop available, 3.0l engine (fuel economy isn't a big hit over the other engines) what more could you want :D

Hi Steve

I am about to sell my 2004 (04) black 3.0 Z4 (41k miles) which I have had 3 great years of ownership due to baby.

This is a top spec low milage example and includes Xenons, Bluetooth phone, 18" M6 alloys (as new) with 4 x new Bridgestone Potenza's, clear light conversion, M seats (heated + memory on both seat + key), M suspension, multi function stearing wheel + more, full BMWSH and has just been MOT'd.

I can send you photo's if you are interested, I'm only down the road in Kent.

Nice looking car Nathan. Love the M6 wheels, especially on a black Z. What size are they, and what width? I've been trying to source a set in 18" and can't seem to find the right sizes anywhere.

Marcus.

Thanks for the comments,

Marcus my wheels are the 18" M6 255/35 R18 90w (Bridestone Potenza's). These are awesome tyres and handle very well in the wet.

The only problem with M wheels are their problem with the lacquer going which is disappointing given how much they cost. I've got them booked in for a full refurb on the 1 Sept.

I've taken some new pictures today which show off the car even more.

Do you like the door pins? A friend of mine is a bespoke fabricator and made them up for me. Much better than the black plastic the come with the car.

Shipkiller, how / what can you paint the callipers with. I assume it has to be some form of special paint?

I picked up a Duplicolor Caliper paint kit from an autoparts store here in the US.. If I remember, it was approx. $15.00. It came with a can of brush on paint, spray brake cleaner and some small brushes. Pick up some extra bushes..

I did this about a year and a half ago. The paint still looks new...

The wheels are reps then as they would be staggered if genuine I assume.

Would be interested to know as it is one wheel that I would consider along with CSL reps if I took the 108's off.

These are originals, the size I gave you was just the rears as I couldn't see the front size as she is tucked away at night in the garage. When I ordered the carbon badges you have a choice between the cap sizes for originals or repo's as they are a few mm different. I'm glad they did fit as I was promised these were originals!

They cant be orignials for two reasons:

i) M6 wheels do not fit the Z4; and
ii) M6 wheels only come in 19" inch varitey!

Look like decent copies though if staggered.

I'm still after a z4 if there are any users still selling theirs?
cheers
Steve
