Hi and welcome.

Think you will struggle unless you don't mind something with high mileage, there are a few on Piston Heads most with 70K+ on them.

are you only looking at 2.0 and 2.5i or up to 2.5si?

Thanks for the welcome.

I've seen a few on the BM AUC site that fit the bill but figured there might be some more on here.

Think the 2.5si will be a bit steep for insurance.

Get some quotes for insurance, it the only way to tell for sure.

What sort of spec/mleage are the AUC cars?

I did see a red 2.0 SE one on PH that was an AUC, but being Red and SE will reduce the price.

Go for a sport model if you can, but again check insurance before you purchase if it's a concern.

In my case I've insured my ///M for £100 less then my 2.5si. :D

Thanks - I tried quotes for the 2.0 and the 2.5 and for me they were so close as makes no odds.

All the AUC cars I'm considering are less than 60k, some are less than 40k.

The AUC ones I've seen are all SE spec - I'm a bit worried about the Sport model as I've had BM's in the past with sports suspension and didn't like it. I'd prefer smaller alloys too which I know goes against the trend!

I'm not keen on red either, a nice metallic will do me.

Just keep checking the BMW Site daily and when one with the right Spec comes up call them even if it says coming soon. Had mine a week now but been looking since Oct. Picked the right time to buy, been offered some great deals along the way but went for the safe dealer option in the end.
Good luck.

Other than the suspension and wheels the other differences are the seats and steering wheel. If your happy with the SE offering then go for it, if you can find one with M Sport seats, then even better.

Sport models will always go for more money though.

Good luck with your search, and get a quote for a 2.5si, you might find it doesnt cost anymore and then give you even more choices.

Good luck.

Don't assume the dealer is the safe option, I rejected my first ///M in September after only a few days as it hadn't been serviced correctly even though they were still happy to sell the car as AUC.

The BMW warranty was therefore worthless as they would have rejected any claim on the engine.
