Looked at three cars today, starting to form a proper wishlist...

Likes

inline six of 2.2i (don't want anthing bigger)
Leather seats (not cloth)
Neutral colour - silver, black, (dark blue?)
Absolutely non smoker, so tidy hood inside as well as out.
Full history but happy with independant for later years.
Two keys!
Working hood!
Four decent tyres and a long MOT

happy with milage around 70,000 - 80,000, prefer to avoid anything over 100,000 (130,000+ scares me!)

Budget is around £4,000, maybe more for very clean example.
I'm in Oxfordshire but not adverse to travelling for viewings.

Tried second-hand car lots, but they are all tired examples. Hoping for better luck buying privately from fellow enthusiats :thumbsup:

This might interest you:

My car is an E85 2005 roadster.
Colour - Maldives Blue - a few stone chips as to be expected at this age but no rust!
Roof - Black no rips with the motor relocated to the boot so no more rust issues :D
Engine 2.2 Straight 6 - Serviced about 1000 miles ago including new plugs. Vanos seals done last year by myself.
Has some service history main dealer and independant - it runs as sweet as a nut :wink:
Mileage - 79000 ish
It had new discs pads and calipers at the front the year before last plus a full brake service (done by me). Also had the diff and gearbox oil replaced this year by BMW specialist and it had full brake fluid change last week.
Wheels - 18 Inch refurbished staggered MV2's (brought from Mr Wilks) with Vredstein Ultrac Sessanta rubber. No scuffs at all and lots of tread left.
Interior - Retrofitted Black leather manual seats - light scuffing on drivers bolster as to be expected with the age of the car.
And the all important stubby antenna :D
Also got Machine Monkey aluminium handbrake, gear lever and radio knob (I have the originals if you wants to put them back). Also got CD multi changer to fit but not done yet.
Aftermarket wind deflector that works really well.
Not been smoked in as far as I know (certainly not in the last 3 years)
This has been my daily driver since I got it and has been ultra reliable. Currently returning 29 mpg on my daily commute (10 mins either way)
