Hi guys,

As per my other thread, I'm currently in the market for a pre facelift Zed.

I'm looking for sub 60k miles really as I'll be putting on a few myself, really want to get heated seats as a minimum and I'm not a fan of red leather! ...but I'm not overly fussed about the rest. Electric mirrors, steering wheel controls and wind deflector would be a bonus.

Must be a manual as well.

I'm based in Reading but work towards High Wycombe.

Cheers! :)

There's a Black 2.2 for sale on here with only 27k on the clock. Might be worth a look if you're not fussed over the extra 27hp....

Thanks Adamski, had a look already but I really am after the bigger engine and heated seats.

Budget is around £6-7k but depends on the car. Found a couple of '04 3 liters and a facelift 2.5 today for around £8k with warranty that I may try to see at the weekend.

If you're after power, the 3.0i has a noticeable amount more than the 2.5i. I test drove both before I bought mine, I'm glad I went for the 3.0i ;)

Running costs aren't much higher on the 3.0i either. As you can tell I'm not at all biased

Good luck with the search, keep looking, you'll get your perfect zed

The 2.2 model is no Slouch, it's been no troble keeping up with the Big boy's when out on a forum run. I have had it on a dyno with a results of just under 180 bhp which is 17 bhp less than the 2.5
Fuel is good aswell, a trip down to Germany last year returned 37 mpg

But if it is a 3lt you wont go for it. good luck with your hunt

Hi doogle83 iam based in Reading and if you would like me to take you out for a spin in a 3.0 ltr so you can get a feel for it just give me a PM. mines been slightly modded but engine wise is as standard.

Thanks for the help guys. Maxum, your car does look great but as I plan to have the top down as much as possible I'm definitely after heated seats and I'm thinking now... the 3 ltr engine :)

Ironically, it'd cost me about 30% less on insurance for a 2004 3.0 than it would a 2.5 facelift?!

Jonnyfive, appreciate the offer but I've lined up a ride in a colleagues 3.0 at lunch tomorrow ...weather permitting! not ideal weather for car shopping but I'm sure I'll get there in the end!

This can be deleted now guys, I've managed to find my Zed and will update my Newbie thread with a couple of pics in a bit! Thanks for all the help and advice! :D :D :driving:
