No doubt a great initial buzz but in reality just a faster variation of the same car :? no different in many respects to the 340BHP Scirocco R i spent a week in France with earlier this year :driving: a total riot at times , very very quick , supremely capable but in no way connecting when you want it to be

This 04 3.0se has certainly made me smile and it's an absolute blast on a short B road run, but I'm longing to get back in the E89, on MPSS's it's a different animal, not quite as chuckable or light but still hugely capable with a level of comfort the E85 can't get close to. Horses for courses of course, both damn good cars. However i definately think this little 3.0se is lots more fun than my M was, you can use the power right through the Rev range and keep sensible, it's just as chuckable and light with spot on power to chassis ratio, it's great fun.

I wouldn't disagree with any of that John but with all respect you haven't been knuckle deep chasing "Lynchy" in his ///M down the straights & bends of Normandy
Not saying i won't get into a twin turbo 89 at some point but for now i'm after a bit more character & pedigree

'A bit more character and pedigree' - I like that and am filing it away for future use

Never a dull moment with you Andy- not tempted to have a crack at an Alpina to complete the set?

Possibly but it would have to be considerably less ££ than a equivalent M  i don't get the price scene on them at all , jmo but they should be bang between a Si & a M pricewise & looking at the market they just aren't :?

+1, thought you would have been tempted by now, Andy :D Mine would be priced somewhere between a forum Si and an ///M (albeit the Hexacon one.... ;))

The saga continues.

Not really sure I understand the quick swap of cars so often, especially when they offer mostly a similar experience. Apart from making Z4-forum bulk buy car history, but each to their own. GLWTSearch.

Don't you fancy finding a keeper?
