Wanted: Z4 Coupe 3.0si or M

Hi guys

Am on the lookout for an E86 coupe. This would be a weekend/track car so would really like either a 3.0si with handling mods or an M at the cheaper end of the market. Has to be manual gearbox and mechanically spot on. Not too fussed about cosmetic imperfections as long as price reflects.

I am in the process of selling my current track car so hopefully good to go in about a week's time, but equally happy to wait a couple of months if needs be as I probably wouldn't use it much over winter.

Let me know if anything is coming up for sale and I look forward to properly joining the forum when I have a car! :driving:

Hi Steve,

My 3.0Si Manual is for sale. Here's a link to the ad: http://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=101109

It's mechanically standard and drives well. I'm looking for £8,500 so if you've got the budget for an M you'll have cash left over to put towards your mods of choice. Drop me a message if you want to arrange a viewing, I'm based in Redhill, Surrey.

Thanks,
Henry

Hi and welcome to the forum OP!

Good luck with your search.

And don't forget we like photos once you've found one!

IMO if you can afford the m, i wouldn't settle for the si
even though i love mine, i do think that the open diff and eps let the si down in a bit in terms of weekend/track work

mines been a cracking weekend car!

i don't doubt it, but if you could afford the M, wouldn't you take it?

I love my 3 litre E86.

I could just about afford to swap to an M, but couldn't realistically afford to run one now I've stopped working (unless I give up something like eating).

When I say afford i do mean afford to run it as well, no point buying one if you sit it in the garage unable to drive! :driving:

I think there were a few contemporary reviews that reckoned the Si was the sweet spot in the range and a better buy than the M

Depends what your requirements and expectations are, as with everything.

Hi Steve,

Been thinking of selling my 3.0si coupe but in no rush, hence not having an ad... but sounds like you're in no rush to buy either which may suit you!?

It's not quite as well spec'd as the 2 you've been sent links for but have recently upgraded to Bilstein B8's with H&R lowering springs (very low!) and powerflex front bushes. Also has SS exhaust and remap, soon to have a an induction kit installed just need to finish off the design and get a few more bits!

let me know if you're interested as and when you sell your current car, good luck with your search!

Hi- We're selling our M for £16.5k 80k miles FBMWSH
Not sure where your "bottom of the market" starts (i.e. if you are looking at Cat C/D) but we've priced it fairly, if this price range is something you'd consider. Anyway, here's the link

Hi guys

Well, I have now sold my car so need to start surfing the classifieds! Short list is Z4 3.0si, Z4m (coupes) or a Boxster (have lots of friends who are Pork fans talking me into this!).

Think I'll grab a couple of test drives at local garages and narrow the list down to one car model...
