dont write off an auto unless you have tried one, they do have a steptronic box that allows you to drive manually albeit without a clutch.. I said exactly the same thing... has to be a manual, but i was convinced by a few members on here that i should try the auto... glad i did... absolutely loved it and never looked back

I'm sure the autos are great but I'm afraid a manual is an absolutely must for me personally.
