Wanted Z4 35i or 28i

Hi all. I’m looking for a 28i or preferably a 35i. I have a long wish list but am quite flexible. As it’s more of a play thing over 50,000 miles would be ideal. Budget is less than £17,000. If your thinking of selling drop me a line. Am based in Essex but will travel. Thanks

Hi Crusty

Can you send some pics, last 7 digits of vin and whereabouts you are.

Black is not my first choice but I can be swayed.

Thanks

Joe

UPDATE:

So thanks for those that have responded, I do appreciate your help in my search.

From responses and other investigations I believe I have narrowed down the search criteria.

Colour. White or silver. Unfortunately I have a grey M135i already and two greys don’t make a right ! Blue does seem to age and black, although lovely is a devil to keep looking pristine. I had a black Range Rover that showed every mark.

Age. Post march 2012 for the roof opening on move function. In the U.K. you can have sun, rain, sleet and snow in a 30 minute drive.

Engine. Goodness, a difficult one. I love my m135i, the acceleration of the bi turbo ( I’m not really worried about the gender orientation, just that it goes like @@@@ off a shovel, which it does. However I can’t really justify two fuel hungry beasts. And, considering the minimal use of the z in mainly fine weather, I suspect I will survive with a mapped 2.8 a think of the car tax saving! Although I am prone to change my mind on this when the speed monkey on my shoulder speaks!

Professional nav is a must. Yes, I know it’s rubbish and Tom Toms are better, easier to update etc etc. But, I want ease and nothing to disconnect every time I pull over.

I love the adaptive suspension in my M135i but may be able to live without it in a 2.8i. But sports suspension is pretty high up on the wish list.

That’s all folks. I really appreciate any responses.

Have a good day forum.

Joe

Hi Joe , welcome to the forum & can't fault your desire for a silver E89  not sure about the roof opening thing though as i'm pretty sure my 2010 E89 will open / close whilst pulling away (up to a certain speed)
Engine choice i really think you need to try the 4 pot as well as the 6 & if you are considering the 28i then you may as well consider the 20i as it can be mapped to the same numbers & generally bought cheaper
As for your M135i  you may want to check under the bonnet for your "bi-turbo" as i thought they were "twinscroll" but single turbo's as with the M235i :? Its the 1M that gets the 2 chargers as with 35i - 35is

Thanks for the Welcome Mr Wilks.

You are quite right the 135i is a single turbo but BMW salesman tend to call it a bi turbo. As bad as estate agents.

Interesting point on the 2.0i. Anyone any experience of mapping a 2.0i.

Views on mapped 2.0i 4 cylinder or a 3.0 6 cylinders would be appreciated.

The hunt goes on!

Hi Joe, after owning a couple of 3litre normally aspirated zeds i decided to go with a 2litre turbo e89.
After initially missing the glorious howl of the inline 6, the grunty 4cylinder power plant has wormed its way under my skin-it’s easy to drive as it’s very tractable and the cheap tax and ability to return 45mpg in normal use are all plus points.
The lighter engine that sits behind the front axel gives it a more agile feel around corners and certain maps can increase the power by approx 100bhp and also give 300ftlb of torque.
They are not for everyone as for some a zed has to have 6cylinders, but I’ve been very impressed with mine :driving:

Well thanks to all you guys the search is getting wider - not narrower :(
So now it’s a 35i, a 28i or a 20i.

Basically any white or silver Z4 after 2012 !

Thanks

Thanks for all the responses. I am picking up a 2.8i next week. 2014 alpine white 30k miles sat nav and sports suspension. More newer and less miles than I wanted but hey, that’s life. Wheels being stripped and painted gloss black and tints done.

Now all I need is some bloody sun!
