WANTED: Z4 3.0 SE

Hi all,

Looking to buy a Z4 3.0 SE as soon as a good one comes up. Would like to spend around 10k (ish) and apart from not being interested in starship miles I am open to all suggestions.

I hope to hear from the current owner of my soon-to-be car very soon! :)

Cheers,
Neil

There are a few Z4's up for sale at the mo. Mine fits your spec and price quite nicely, feel free to have a look:

Put some pics up when you find the right one

Thanks to those that have replied either via this or to my email - apologies if I've not come back to you but this last week has been far too busy for my liking.

I went to view a possiblity tonight - Maldives Blue (amazing colour in real life), 3.0 SE manual, 37000 miles all the extras that I think a 53 plate could have (sat nav, bluetooth, heated memory seats) and he's looking for £10500. Admittedly not in perfect condition but with a bit of love she'd be back to her former glory.

Going to have another sniff round on Sunday I think - pics to follow (once I have made her perfect again of course!) :) :) :D

Hi Neil,

That's not a bad price, I paid the same for a 53 3.0 manual in black with pretty much every extra with 65,000 miles a few months ago.

It also wasn't in perfect condition, but finding a 6.5 year old car in perfect condition is near impossible.

If you aren't interested in all of the options, then you could probably drop your budget at least £1000, possibly even £2000 - there is a guy on here selling for £8500.

The most important thing is to make sure they've looked after it!

When mine goes (towards the end of this year, hopefully) it'll be over 7 years old, but in absolutely mint condition! They are out there, just hidden.

As it'll be my daily driver I'm conscious that the miles will rack up...my logic was that lower miles and a bit of tlc will hopefully stand me in better stead when it comes to trading in - whevever that may be.

Insurance wise - any suggestions? I'm 27... I haven't had the required 'similar car' to qualify for the deal on here I don't think?

Firstly welcome to the forum and a hunt for a great car :D

insurance - so subjective based on too many factors to second guess :o - you will just have to hit the comparison websites and phone around... Doing things like IAM training can help bring the cost down but that isn't guaranteed

"Near impossible" :D

99.999% of owners don't try to keep their carts in mint condition, so finding that 0.001% is the game :) Luckily he's come to the owners forums where more like 25% will try to keep it mint, and the other 75% will look after it well!

With insurance, having a driving history on another car can be taken into consideration, even if it isn't a sports car. If you have history of being a named driver, do try phoning up for an insurance quote and pointing this out. It is time-consuming, but can be well worth it.

I am now a Z4 owner!! Hurrah for me...I'll bung some pictures up when I have got her all perfect again...

Quick question, and apologies if there's a thread I haven't found, but is it possible to retrofit the key operated auto roof function? I have seen a module on ebay but thought I'd run the idea past much more knowledgable people than I first...

Thanks!

Hello neilrjones

I seem to remember this modul being a group buy on Z4UM, and I think some buyers had problems after installation, (but not sure) :)

Installation issues were there when non soldering methods were used. Don't think there were many issues with the units that were fitted properly.
