Hi All
First time post here, just been gazumped on a Z4 so looking for a Z4 3.0 with 60,000 miles of below with sat nav for up to £8000 could go a little more for the perfect car . Would ideally like red leather interior and some nice wheels but open to suggestions, I am located in Surrey. You can post here, pm me or email me.
Thank you
Chris

This one is over your mileage, but you're pushing it a bit at the price you want to spend and the seller is negotiable...

A decent spec 3.0Si at the mileage the OP is looking for will still cost £10k or thereabouts I reckon for a roadster, at least a couple of k more for a coupe...

Just going on what I have seen on Autotrader recently when having a poke around, not done any serious analysis. I reckon mine is worth about £10k, no xenons or top flight hi-fi, but automatic with Nav, heated ///M sports seats, auto lights/mirrors/windscreen wipers, blah blah, but on 77k miles. There are some good low milers around, but no facelifts at £8k that I have seen that look decent. Should be able to get a nice pre-facelift for that money though, and there's not too much between the 3.0i and the 3.0Si

Oh okay, fair enough, plenty of pre facelifts in that budget then

I picked up my 3.0I 70k for £6.5k a few months back

So you will easily pick up a preface lift that's under 8k

There was plenty about when I was looking

This is the car that I was in the process of buying before I was gazumped at the last minute http://classifieds.pistonheads.com/classifieds/details?l4=710077 I am new to Z4's but that car was very nice and had a lovely resonant engine sound, the ones I have tried since then have been very quiet cars, that car didn't have any after market exhausts but the owner said something about a resonance tube in the engine bay, is that standard equipment or an after market addition? I go through Autotrader, PistonHeads, Ebay and this forum daily trying to find a car of similar spec to the one in the link, hopefully one will come up soon :)

That sounds like he is talking about the sound generator, all 3.0 have them

However there is a small mod you can do to them l, by removing the foam which let's more sound into the cabin

Search the forum for sound generator mod

That's an ex forum car (same index etc), I was close to buying it myself last year (Sept) but it was way too expensive and he seemed to think it was the best Z4 in the country because it had the aero bodykit and wouldn't budge on price:

So glad I didn't as I found a much better one at a lower price so don't get too down about it...! Looks like the person who bought it from Dave hasn't lost a lot of money on it though (lucky him), even if Dave did strip it of all the nice bits!

They'll be another round the corner soon :)

Oh and the noise IMO you're talking about is 100% the sound generator modification (search on here will tell you all about it). daveg was actually the person who told me about it and why I ended up doing it on my previous 3.0i so no doubt the foam is still missing from his one (above), hence why you think it sounds better. And from memory I think he was a fan of removing both bits = MORE noise!

Here's mine I sold in July, proof you can get a nice 3.0i for good money...

How bad potentially would it be to get a higher mileage Z4, I do see a lot of lovely looking cars with close to 100,000 miles on them but really dont want a £2000 bill come the first service?
