Hi everyone, new to this forum and looking to buy a Z4!

I am looking for a 2L or 2.5L manual

Up to 90k miles

I am looking to spend no more than about the £7k mark

I have seen suitable cars BUT I want to have a something a little different to the normal black, silver or gun metal

Ideally I'd like either Olive Green or Maroon Red with cream/champagne seats

Hopefully someone might have something on here :)

Welcome along.

I haven't seen either of those two colours on here recently for sale but always worth a look. Your budget of 7k should get you a 2.5 at least on lower mileage that 90k depending on the age you're afte(facelift or not)

Have a good look through the checklists on newbies buying if you're not familiar with the cars, tonnes of useful information for ore-purchase.

Good luck

2006 is when the facelift came out and includes revised headlamps, tail lights, front bumper, engines. The 2.0 came out in 2005 so there are a few pre facelift ones kicking around and will likely be cheaper than a facelift.

You will defo get a facelift 2.0 with around 50/60k miles for 7k. Been a few sold on here recently around that price. The Sport can be more expensive as it includes larger 18" wheels and Msport trim (seats, suspension, steering wheel) than the SE.

Don't know much about the 2.5 other than it had a new engine with facelift which is more powerful than predecessor. Think trim levels can be quite varied.

Thanks everyone for the advice

I am quite confident at getting a deal so hoping to get 60k miles, 06/07 model, don't mind if it's 2 or 2.5.. And hopefully something that stands out from the crowd and is a bit different

If anybody knows of or is selling something they think is suitable, please let me know! Cash is waiting :D

A facelift 2.0 could definitely be had for your money. A 2.5 perhaps but it might have slightly higher miles.

I saw a pre-face lift 05 (i think) on autotrader only this week, which was maroon/burgundy coloured.

Good luck with the search.

Thanks! I saw that one too, very tempted... but I think getting the facelift will be better

Still looking for a 2/2.5 Z4..

Budget is now around £5k mark, decided to buy a holiday instead!

Open to any colours, something different preferable but being realistic with my budget

How important would you guys say is it that the roof motor has been replaced when buying on an older Z4 model?

Any tell tale signs or do they just clunk out?

Hi Hawzat,
I had the roof motor replaced on mine (as you know, its a design fault with the z4 drainage) There were no tell tale signs, it just stopped working one day (when it had started to rain, luckily i was right next to a petrol garage so pulled in till i could put the roof up manually.
I am actaually selling mine on here - with a new roof motor and cream leather interior, but its metallic sapphire black and is a bit more than you want to pay.
You could always ask a seller if they had been regularly doing drainage holes maintenance, as we have since finding out the expensive way (stealership will charge £1,350)
Good luck. :D

Hi Bimer,

Thought it may be worth asking but as I thought it just clunks out

I have seen yours and I do really like it, the cream interior is what sells it for me! Just that but out of the price range I'm looking in. Although if you do drop the price keep me in the know!

Good luck

Just got myself a 2003, 2.5, 75k miles, (21k in last 7 years), FSH part BMW, 4 new Bridgestone run flats, new roof motor, haggled down to £4300, OVER THE MOON! Gave it a quick blast this evening, what a fantastic car!
