Hey guys...

I am after a set of xenon headlights for my zed... I have noticed on these darker nights that the standard halogens are simply not strong enough and I don't feel 100% safe on my 100mile trip to and from work in the dark!!!

If anyone knows of any headlights for sale I would be very grateful!

I have heard horror stories of £750 a piece from the stealers for an upgrade... does anyone know if this is accurate?!

Thanks...

It's not that simple, you will need a new LCM module, and other items to ensure the correct height is kept. In short going the OEM route will cost a fortune.

Get some Philips 80% brighter bulbs or similar and adjust your headlights up by one or two complete turns of the adjuster, it will make a huge difference.

This is a big job! Which includes fitting the headlight washer system as well as all the kit to operate/self level Xenons etc etc. Agree with Srhutch; a bulb upgrade would be the cheaper and EASIER option.

As said above all correct and good advice and on the price - that's for the headlight unit alone. On top of that you have to add the bulbs, ballasts and connectors. Reckon on £2000+ for the lights. If you can't reprogramme the LCM then a new one at another £200 and the retrofit self levelling kit at (guess) %50 - £100

wow... thanks for all the advice... I had no idea quite how expensive/complicated a job it would be!!!

I think I may have to put up with the higher power bulbs I have already invested in!!! :(

Just a thought... what about these:

Obviously have to pay for fitting etc... but definately less than BMW!!!

Sorry but those are facelift lights and that's yet another league of problems as you need to do some rewiring and a new LCM to make them work at all.

You're after 2005 (white indicator) or earlier (amber) xenon as the basic start.

If it were as easy and cheap as you hoped then more people would do it :)
