WANTED - Window regulator housing

Hi guys,

Unfortunately both cables snapped in my Zed's window regulator. I am just after repairing the driver & passenger side using a very handy repair kit I bought on eBay from a UK company.
It was a bit of a challenge to begin with but I can gladly report it worked a treat :D

In the process of putting the passenger side regulator back together I managed to damage the housing that holds the cable in place on the motor (black housing as seen in photo below).

Does anyone have this part or can recommend where I can source one?

I'm finding it hard as it's usually sold part of the regulator system and I can't find it available anywhere online separately.....

Thanks in advance for your help :thumbsup:

sorry to hi-jack this but just a quick question;
my drivers window seems to move up and down fairly quickly but the passenger is a bit slow. Is this a sign of a duff motor...? :(

Apologies for bumping an old thread...

The cable on my drivers side window regulator appears to have snapped also

I bought the repair kit from a place on eBay

I gave the whole lot to a friend that is a mechanic, and asked him to repair - he tells me that he stripped the door down and became stuck when confronted with the black regulator housing. Apparently, the nuts holding it on can only be undone with a special BMW tool

Is this correct? or is there a clever way to get them off?

Do they even need to come off in order to replace the regulator cable? is there a more clear how-to guide (with photos) anywhere?

Thanks

I read that you have to drill the rivets out to replace the cable. That's why I chose to spend extra and get a whole new regulator which I fitted yesterday

Ah... thanks. Yeah, he suggested they could be drilled out

What would you replace them with though? a regular M6 (or whatever the size is) bolt? :-/
