Wanted urgently z4 3.0si manual roadster

Guys,

Really keen to find a well cared for lowish mileage z4 roadster 3.0si. Manual gearbox. Must meet this criteria. Not interested in the older non si or the se. Must be msport suspension.

Anyone looking to sell or have any idea where to find one?

If anyone considering sale contact me today.

I have no max budget, will obviously only pay approx market rate :). Whatever is appropriate to the year, mileage, condition etc.

Thanks

Got cash ready to go today. So anyone on the fence about selling let me know asap.

I'm looking to buy immediately.

Many thanks.

Would help if you specify what you consider to be ‘lowish’ mileage, also year of registration is pretty much irrelevant to value as the 3.0Si roadsters weren’t produced for that long and there’s a relatively limited supply.

Certain things impact value more than others, Heated MSport seats are a must for premium priced examples. Zenon’s are preferable, hiFi spec audio etc also desirable.

A forum member compiled this database of Si and M models:- http://perso.numericable.fr/tonyz4c/index30si.html

Based on that it appears that only 695 manual 3.0Si E85s were registered in the UK and that includes the SE models, so they are pretty rare!

You may need to travel to find one, but good luck tracking one down - the 3 litre N52 is a great engine.

8 owners. Body work is terrible. Scratches everywhere. Seen a vid and extra images. Resprayed at the front. Never seen an si with out the steering wheel controls. No xenons. No cruise. Red seats. Bbs alloys. I imagine there is something up with it under full inspection. Those are enough to put me off however.

I always assumed MFSW was standard but I have seen a few without. As with most cars they look good in the pictures, I thought that one looked nice myself, was the body work that bad? Are they that sort of scratches that require paint or could a detailer rescue it?

I can understand some of the points that put you off, but you've been looking for over a year now so I really think you're going to have to compromise a bit more - or be very lucky.
Wheels can be changed; cruise is an easy retro-fit; seats and door cards can be changed easily; even SE suspension can be changed to MSport. As you're aware, there's a limited number of 3.0si E85s out there and they don't come up too often, especially the "good" ones, as people are holding on to them.
It appears the holy grail you're after consisits of:
manual MSport
low mileage of 40-60k
few owners
xenons
heated seats - but not red
cruise
not 108s
MFSW
in addition to what everyone else wants - service history, unmarked paintwork etc

There will be a few cars like that, but most won't be for sale simply because they are like that.

Good luck with your search, I think you may need it.

Ouch. That’s a bit harsh about the car i’m selling above. You called me, and listed the negatives (in your opinion). I don’t understand why YOU called me.. if it was that undesireable to you, why even call and waste my time for an hour.

Re. The paint. It had a scuffed bumper, so it was painted to a good standard. It’s 15 years old. There are the odd marks around the car, and as said in the advert a keen home detailer could probably get a lot out.

Also, you’ve said ‘it probably needs work’?! You haven’t even viewed it yet assumed that. It has just been to RBM for a full check over.. so it has less chance of needing work than your assumption.

There are other Si’s on AT without steering controls, so you haven’t looked hard. If it was MINT like you seem to be expecting, then it’s probably an £11k car to the right person.

According to howmanyleft.co.uk there are only 59 manual 3.0si convertibles in the UK. That may well be wrong, but how many of those do you think fit the criteria?

There are currently 4 for sale in the UK, 2 of which are too high mileage, one is the one linked above - what's wrong with this one?

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202107104872409?body-type=Convertible&radius=1500&onesearchad=New&onesearchad=Nearly%20New&onesearchad=Used&transmission=Manual&include-delivery-option=on&sort=relevance&postcode=co46bw&minimum-badge-engine-size=3.0&aggregatedTrim=si&advertising-location=at_cars&make=BMW&model=Z4&page=1

Good luck

[ref]tiglon[/ref], the howmanyleft data is very incorrect. One of the reasons I started looking for a Coupe was because of its rarity, until I found there were more for sale than were supposed to exist! I bought one anyway because they are 8) .

I would not take it to heart. The problem with selling a low mileage Z4 3.0si is they demand a reasonable premium. Die to this I think people expect them to be immaculate when in reality they are not after all most are anywhere between 13-16 years old.

Also show me a car that has not had previous paint work, most cars on the road have seen some sort of paint at work at some point

You’re not helping yourself here,

You want a car urgently, demand in your opening post that sellers ‘contact you today’ and then let rip in an open forum about a car for sale on the forum that’s not of interest to you?

Red seats and 108’s are features that YOU don’t like, they’re far from a negative for everyone…. Why enquire about a car that has red seats and 108’s if you hate them?

If the car’s not for you a simple, polite, reply is all that needed.. ‘’doesn’t meet my criteria’’ or whatever.

I’ve no idea if the car in question is a good prospect or not, but this sort of response isn’t going to have potential sellers queuing around the block to bring their cars for your appraisal.

This is quite a funny read.

I've just bought a 15 year old coupe and love it even with the red seats.

They are old cars and the chances of getting exactly what you want is like looking for a needle in a haystack!

Please do keep us all updated with you search.

If I was a seller I wouldn’t be rushing to offer my car after that attitude.

Could be another year.........

This forum is so emotional 😂. I can't believe how confrontational people get. In person you'd never talk s**t like this. Not everyone. But a few choice long standing members are wankers! Dramatise everything. Feminine behaviour 😂. Oh well!

I think you have shown your true colours with a sexist post like that. Good luck finding a car.

On a positive note l've been a member of this forum for around a month and experienced nothing but decent people.

I bought a cover for my car from a chap who was a pleasure to meet and then another member has posted a part out to me without wanting any payment whatsoever.

My post is not meant to be confrontational but we do all need to be nice to each other.

Ah, so the forum has not met your expectations, so you diss the forum.

It's not emotion child, it's fact.

Now if we met in a pub, would you describe my car in such terms as you described a forum members? I doubt it. But you are from the keyboard warrior generation i suspect,

You may still find a car from a seller on this forum, but i doubt it.
