Gents/Ladies,

Any Hardtops for sale? Ideally in Sterling Grey.

Cheers
Steve

Found this one on E Bay - seems cheap, not your colour but easy to get resprayed.

Just out of interest, how much do they usually go for second hand?

Edit: Just checked on my ebay sellers app on the iPhone, one sold recently, same colour/condition for £800

Just going on previous sales, E Bay etc seems that £800 to £1000 is about right and obviously depending on condition.

Not sure I like the look of the Hard top. Will just take care of my ragtop for now, may change my story come winter-time :|

Keep looking your find one eventually, I got mine off eBay for £650. Was in good condition just no inside trim pieces, had to drive 300 mile round trip to get it but at the price plus no need to respray i was happy. People tend to sell them off when selling cars in the summer or early part of the year when they are taken off cars after winter.

Selling price is normally £700 - £900 depending on condition or if it comes with a stand. That one on eBay seems ok, if your going to have it resprayed the mark isn't an issue, if you call the respray £200 roughly I'd only want to pay his asking price of £550, but after it's sprayed it would be like new

I was really lucky with mine, took a big chance as it was a new seller to eBay no feedback so no one bid. He only wanted to use pay pal so I made sure I went through their terms to make sure I was covered.

An old advert from 4 weeks ago but may still be available £650

PS A hardtop for me is a defo in the winter months, I also had one for an MX5 i used to own - protects the ragtop in the winter and in my opinion gives the z4 a more agressive look

cheers guys. The one on ebay looks alright - like you said would need a respray so wouldn't want to pay too much more. Though would have to pick it up in the z4! - do I need to remove the soft top completely or does it sit over it when it's down? Going to look a bit odd Sterling Grey car with a silver hard top :poke:

The hardtop is fitted once the soft top is lowered/stowed

Make sure the hardtop comes with two covers (size of your palm and fabric covered) as these are clipped into place by the side of each headrest so hiding the two gaps the hardtop leaves

PS before you part with your cash fit it and take the car for a drive (50mph+) to see if you have any windnoise, if you do you may have to alter the sitting of the hardtop (a bit tricky) so bargin on the price.

Not heard of this before could you elaborate? I don't get much wind noise, but then comparing it to the soft top it's silent lol

Cheers  reading that mine might be a little low, so no wind noise but occasional clank when on rough roads, think I'll have a play on Saturday !

Let me know how you get on as i have the reverse, no clanking but some wind noise from the passenger side when im doing 60+

Wanted to go check this roof out for you as im in birmingham too. contacted the seller to ask a couple questions. apparently he is selling on behalf of his mate, who has already sold his car. I asked if I could try the roof on the car before I hand over the cash but he said that he wouldn't support this, that if you win the auction then you have to pay. Poor attitude so I didn't bother in the end. :x

I had a hardtop fitted on my old Z all the time and it never had any wind noise etc, it was the best option I specified on the car :)

Noise is nearly always caused by poor adjustment that's an easy fix, or the need for a new winscreen seal and that's around £150 last time I looked

I have the factory install pdf and a good guide to adjustment if anyone needs it. Just pm me an email address.

Thanks to Phil aka cj10jeeper and the install guide he sent me ive eliminated the windnoise i was having with my hardtop by adjusting the hardtop height.

However im still having the squeak from the rear (passenger side) of the hardtop so im going to try and make the next 'meet' and see if one of you guys has a better idea for a fix, as im stumped :?
