Sadly the dreaded roof motor failure has struck. :(

Money is very tight at the moment so if anyone spots a cheap 2nd hand one for sale somewhere then please let me know. Or if theres any Z4's being broken for parts, ebay used to have loads of them but can't find one today.

Many thanks

Sorry to hear of your problem but I think if you are going to the trouble of changing it yourself then rather than take a risk I would go for the new option. May cost you more in the long run to fit a secondhand one only for it to possibly fail in a couple of months. AND if you replace with new and come to sell then its a good selling point.

Thanks for the help guys, especially Nova2k7 for doing a search

I'm considering trading up to another Z very shortly (a 3.0si or a //M). Id be gutted it If I spend £650 on a new roof motor to sell the car only for it to happen again on the next one!

I've found a company in Lincolnsire who can recondition your old motor for £199 or I could get a brand new one from USA for £227 delivered but theres the risk of getting stung for import duty and VAT.

I know theres no such thing as a cheap fix on these :(

+1 One item you shouldn't be buying 2nd hand due to the high failure rate. I'm on my 4th.
