Wanted! Rear Spring for e86 M

Having decided to keep the coupe for the time being (yay!) I decided to fit the rear pads I've had lying around today. One of my rear springs is looking a wee bit rusty in two places, not broken yet but why wait for it to happen eh?

Before I bend over & accept BMW's prices does anyone have a spare rear spring that's in good condition lying around?

Obviously there'll be a generous offer of beer tokens & good will if anyone can help :)

Well very quickly a member has got in touch who has some 2004 3.0 M Power suspension springs, I'm guessing these are different rates to the M coupe?

Real oem don't list a part number for the 3.0 as there are differents specs (I'm guessing SE & M etc) so I can't check that way, anyone know?
 
If you can't find a used one, call Dave from Sopers of Lincoln and mention Z4 forum and you should get at least 20% off retail, I did!
 
thanks for the tips guys, i did suspect that the 3.0 spec springs would be different, however...........

i rang my local uni part (carlisle) this morning, just for the craic more than anything else, and guess what? they've got them on the shelf, £34+vat each!

this cannot be right can it???

now obviously i'd be a little concerned at having springs from different manufacturers on one axle, but even at those prices i could change both & still be quids in. i'm firmly of the belief that if something's to good to be true it usually is.

but a spring is a spring right? as long as it's the correct design & poundage it should do what it's supposed to!

are our springs used elsewhere in the bmw range? there must be a reason that a uni-part in carlisle has these on their shelf?

answers on a postcard....
 
The non-M models have different spring part numbers depending on final spec, options fitted, etc.

for my car which is an 04 3.0 SE with MSport (as I believe they all are?) Part numbers are:

Front: 31336760622 or 3
Rear: 33536761925 or 6

... But it does ask you what options you have fitted (such as electric seats, SMG, Stereo system, Headlight cleaning)... some of those options seem to change the part numbers slightly :?
