I'm sure I read on here once that you swap out all the grubbing overfrom a halogen and xenon etc as the casing/indicators housing are the same except for the ballast bit that needs drilling/cutting out. Not sure if I dreamt it but might be an option if it's true as we all know facelift halogens are certainly easier to find

I have one. It's black inserts with orange indicator. Needs a 3m kit to bring it back to life. Not sure on price. Think £200 seems about right. It's fully functional inc ballast.

If it's an M it will have the same silver inner/clear indicator ones a post facelift 3.0si uses. Hopefully someone will confirm one way or another if you can use a halogen post facelift casing and swap xenon bits over. I could just be talking crap!

Just out of curiosity what components differ?

The facelift inners are different to pre facelift, so that's a no go.
Apart from the obvious orange indicator on the pre stuff the inner colour is different, the posts have a silver finish where as the pre has a more chrome one.
Theres a little bulb to do flash to pass on pre's that's missing on the post ones as the xenon bulb itself does it.
Theres an angle eye for sidelights on the post that isnt there on the pre, that uses just an ordinary bulb.

Was just curious as I was thinking of ditching the crappy pre-facelift xenons for some retrofits as done by zmaster on here on his facelift. Any idea if they are the same projector setup for the lowbeam?

My understanding is the low/high beam xenon setup on the pre and post is the same, so a retrofit kit that works for one should work for the other. Im 95% sure on this but hopefully one of our headlight gurus can confirm this is 100% accurate before you go out and spend any money.

If his light just has broken brackets they are cheap and easy to replace.

He said the clips + glue to the lens has failed :? does that make sense ?
Andy sounds to me he may need the barackets (£15) and a new rear seal to prevent condemnation (£20). If that’s the case it’s a lot cheaper than swapping the light.
