Had an argument with a pheasant. He lost but my front towing eye cover was lost in the battle and BMW want £96 for a new one. So if anyone has a Mineral White (or f**** it, an Alpine white, my eyes arent that good) front towing eye cover for an M-Sport bumper please let me know!

That must be a mistake surely? £96 for a towing eye cover? :o

Its £20ish for the part but because it's mineral white only one of their bodyshops near me can mix the paint. Its actually more than that in some cases. My options were:

1- wait for another mineral white car to come in that needs painting so they dont have to mix up the paint especially, this will cost £96 inc VAT
2 - have them mix the paint especially for me and paint it, which will run me £140 inc VAT.
3 - live that hole in the bumper life and cry myself to sleep

You can get pre-primed ones on ebay for £25, looking at different options now.

edit - i also thought my car was alpine white, given that its quite a basic spec. Nope, previous owner wanted the fancy paint, just not the iDrive system apparently...

Get a rattle can match & diy, it’s only a small part so shouldn’t be so noticeable-I wouldn’t go down the body shop road for that :|

yeah thats my thoughts, any chain reccomendations to get the paint? I know how to use a rattle can im just not sure where to source a paint match from.

They're brushes though arent they? Concerned about brush marks/streaks/whatever they're called. I could thin it down and use it in a modelling airbrush however i suppose

This. I lost a washer jet cover off the bumper. I had a can mixed up along with a tin of Halfords lacquer and it was perfect. Came out lovely. For such a small object I would get too worried.

so turns out halfords don't do mineral white, just alpine. wondering how much of a difference there would be for such a small part...

Halfords will have it mixed for you by a paint company, at least the one near me will. Takes a few days.
